London-based director Abbie Stephens has a knack for strong, concept-led direction that treads the border between fiction and reality. Her work challenges our expectations of the world around us and has earned her an impressive collection of award nominations from the UKMVAs, International Fashion Film and British Animation Awards.

Alongside carving out a successful career in commercials Abbie applies her stylistic flair and storytelling in the narrative space. Her films Misery Guts (2012) and Solo (2017) were both commissioned as part of the Random Act segment on Channel 4 and gained online acclaim. Her latest short films Observations on Relationships (2019) was nominated for audience choice awards and premiered at Encounters film festival. This film opened the door to commissioners at the BBC and Channel 4 and Abbie is currently working on writing a TV series idea to pitch later this year.
