Roselind Hunsel was born and raised in Paramaribo, Suriname. After studying fashion design in the 80’s and a long career in the fashion industry as a pattern cutter and costume designer, she went back to education in 2014 to reconnect with her art practice. Her creative process is a search for a sense of belonging that has a subconscious connection to her birthplace in Paramaribo. Visual interpretations of expressions and meanings that either get highlighted or lost in translation. She explores various media to be be able to translate a colourful abstract and energetic visual balance. Her work is a visual multi-cultural language.
