Jake Mavity is an award-winning writer/director known for his joyful approach to filmmaking. His work is honest, witty and defined by his emphasis on film craft. He has an intuitive approach to casting, often working with new and undiscovered talent for performances that are both fresh and naturalistic. Jake’s background as an editor imbues his storytelling with clarity and precision and his confident approach has led to him being recognised at a variety of prestigious festivals and awards for his work in narrative, music videos and advertising.

Jake often takes an experimental approach, having used stopframe animation, 360º cameras, moving sets and even 5 smartphones rigged together for unique and surprising executions. He has shot films for Google, McDonald's, Nescafé, National Lottery, Amazon, Premier Inn, Vodafone and Co-op amongst others.

His most recent short film, Calico, is enjoying a successful international film festival run and he is currently developing his next short which will go into production this year.
