“A folk genius” - Janice Long, BBC Radio Wales

Last year, after his UK album release tour was cancelled due to covid, James Riley took to London’s rooftops, and played 21 livestreamed concerts with his band, drawing millions of views online and national media attention from the BBC & the Guardian.

No stranger to artistic reinvention, James’s music has over the past few years morphed and grown from its roots in the songcraft of UK troubadours like John Martyn or Sting, picking up inherited influence from Laurel Canyon and his years spent playing in Nashville, where he made his most recent album ’Transatlantica' with a Grammy-winning producer.

James’s music has been championed by BBC Radio 6, BBC Radio Wales, BBC Radio London, London Live.

2021 sees a second round of rooftop concerts in supported by the Arts Council, a studio album release (slated for September) & a slew of online & real-life live shows as James and his band make a long-awaited return the world of live music.
