Taz Gray is an artist creating drawings on paper. Her main medium of choice is fineliner working predominantly on brown paper.
Taz started to explore drawing last summer, squeezing in a bit of sketchbook work in between the day job, running her own art classes and family life. This hasn't changed much now but lockdown 2020 has meant more time to develop her drawing style.
Taz spends time walking around exploring and taking in the urban, industrial landscape they're surrounded by in Upper Edmonton, where she lives with her husband. Inspired by the '30s architectural heritage and the many green spaces in the borough, Taz started a series of drawings of lesser-known places from her walks reflecting the shadows and silhouettes she saw.
Taz has a close connection to her community in North London launching Tottenham Art Group in 2012 for like-minded locals to meet, discover and enjoy cultural activities within the borough. In 2014 this evolved into the ongoing Tottenham Art Classes where she provides people the opportunity to draw and create through the varied sessions and courses she organises.
