It was in the early part of the 1950's, that a brother and sister, Jack & Nitza Nicholas, took a small room in North London, and started manufacturing bridal gowns.
As the work began to mount up, the rest of the family, firstly Johnny, followed by Androulla, Tony, Fanos and Elias joined the company, each taking responsibility for their own department.
In a short space of time, a large number of workers were being engaged to cope with the ever increasing demand for Nicholas Brothers Gowns. It was also, at this time, the family moved to larger premisis to accomodate the workforce.
They soon introduced evening and cocktail wear to the collection, and this brought interest from film productions, the most famouse bring the James Bond franchise. Newspapers and magazines were soon approaching them for editorials and special features.
As the company grew, and the original founders were ready to step down, younger members of the family joined the company, and its name was changed to The House Of Nicholas.
The company moved from it's premises in Holloway to Tottenham in 1994, when Jack's son Nick, and Nitza's daughter Katia joined the board.
In 2008, the remaining original members of the company decided to retire, and it was at this time the company was totally taken over by Nick and Katia, and moved again, to its present home of Florentia Clothing Village.
The House Of Nicholas was rewarded for its longevity and continuing service to the bridal market with an official visit from the Mayor Of Harringey in December 2021.
The Company's ethos is to produce a first class product, at an affordable price, complemented by reliability and a stellar customer service.
We believe it is these values that have kept The House Of Nicholas in the bridal market for the last 70 years.
