Local recording studio community, Ten87, is the long-term home of 150 of the UK’s most cutting-edge musical creators housed within 50 recording studios.
In March 2022, Ten87 announced the opening of their new recording and audio/visual production studio, The Club. Formerly home to Five Miles, a club venue lost to the pandemic. Ten87 has repurposed the space into a large-scale, cutting-edge tracking studio, based within the Markfield Road creative hub.
The Club, available for day hire from 4 April, has an equipment spec that includes a newly refurbished SSL E series console, an outstanding collection of mics and outboard, including real EMT plate reverb, plus an array of instruments, among them a Yamaha C3 grand and a Fender Rhodes piano.
The 1,100ft² steel structure was designed with acoustician Nick Whittaker (Abbey Road, Miloco Studios) and features high, angled ceilings, and mathematically astute acoustic dimensions.
Rob Burn, Founder, Ten87 Studios said: “Seven years after opening our first long-term let studios in Markfield Road, we’re proud to open our first day hire studio, providing our existing members with an even more rounded offering. We are also very excited to welcome the wider music community through our doors to start recording in this exceptional space.
“The Club’s A/V capabilities mean that live streams and recordings will be simple and efficient. They will also look and, most importantly, sound incredible. If you’re looking to ignite a fresh writing project, nail a mix, or capture a new sound, our brand new studio has all you need to level up your next record.”
Danny T, Engineer, Stormzy, A$AP Rocky said: “It’s so exciting that London’s getting a new room of this calibre. We’ve lost so many of these spaces in recent times and they really are essential for our culture and musical infrastructure. I can’t wait to be a part of some of the records that come out of The Club.”
