Since our first Shutter Gallery blog post back in November last year, lots more local artists and shops have been involved in the project supported by Haringey Council as part of the Mayor of London Creative Enterprise Zone.

Bud Studio, who are helping to deliver the programme, said: “Made By Tottenham has been amazing for bringing the creative community together in Tottenham. Working on the Shutter Gallery project has connected us with artists, businesses and residents, not to mention those people with each other. It has also been a platform for helping us initiate our own community project 'Art for Haringey'.”

Jenni Allen, the artist who painted a shutter for Celebration Party Ware on West Green Road, said: “This collaboration was a great experience, being able to connect with a family run business that has been serving the community for years and responding to the atmosphere and identity of their shop. Working with Bud Studio to realise my design and seeing it amongst the landscape of the high street is truly rewarding.”

Here’s a selection of the newly completed shutters:

Lauren Syratt at Kio’s Newsagent (8 West Green Road)

Lauren told us: "I've lived in Tottenham my whole life and love the fact that working with the Shutter Gallery has given me the chance to make a small, cheerful mark on my environment."

William Jefferies at Capital Tyres (173A Broad Lane)

Lana Hughes at Park Lane

Javie Huxley at Botellon Latino (260-262 High Road)

Javie also painted a shutter for Martinez Butchers. She said: " It was really special to work with the [Martinez Butchers] owner Daniel and celebrate his his lovely family through art... This project was a beautiful reminder that it's more important than ever to support local businesses."

Anna Nicolo at Appleman Legal (280 High Road)

Itaewon at Uptown Cuisine (161 Park Lane)

Tessie Orange Turner at Bongo Bar African Restaurant (65-67 Broad Lane)

Squarms at Hochima (194 Philip Lane)

Lucy Calder at Barry’s Cooling (Park Lane)

Lucy told us: "I was so thrilled to be selected to help decorate the streets of Tottenham. The artwork I created for Barry’s Cooling celebrates the people and communities of the area. And the artwork for Candir pays tribute to the heritage of the business owners."

Lucy Calder at Candir Turkish Restaurant (272 High Road)

Hannah Benihoud at Deli Co (Broad Lane)

Matt Dosa at Family Dry Cleaners (Hermitage Road)

Matt said: "I had such a great time adding some much needed colour to this little corner of Tottenham. The owner of the shop loved the result, and I had countless locals stopping throughout, saying how happy they were to see it happening. The highlight for me though was Jim, the old man in the house next door, who kept me company and fed me tea and biscuits."

The Shutter Gallery project is supported by Haringey Council as part of the Mayor of London Creative Enterprise Zone, and the High Street Recovery Plan. The project is being delivered with Tottenham Hale based Bud Studio. Thanks to Elena Davidson from Zone Arts, a platform supporting and selling affordable art by local artists, for her help with the project.
